While the game is a turned-based affair, players choose their heroes actions on an individual basis instead of having one person choose everything, not unlike the relationship between players and a Dungeon Master. The game’s story campaign can have up to five heroes in the party, and through co-op, each player can take control of one of these heroes.

While the game didn’t originally have co-op functionality at the beginning of its Early Access build, Wildermyth did eventually receive it near the end of the developmental period, and that function has carried over into the full release. So, does Wildermyth have co-op? Does Wildermyth Have Co-op? But say, you know what really makes a game of Dungeons and Dragons, and by extension, Wildermyth, fun? Having some good friends to play it with. Following your player characters in this game is not unlike building up a character sheet, and feels just as gratifying. Hence, Arthuruins: scraps of material culture that might have survived if you transplanted the setting of the Arthurian legends into the era of Wildermyth's canonical ancient civilizations.Wildermyth is not unlike a good game of Dungeons and Dragons: a fantasy story that grows and develops organically the further you get into it. but its ancient past certainly includes queens and castles, so why not bundle a bit of that into its archaeology? Obviously the Yondering lands don't have the political setup for any great just kings to be wandering around now. I'm on a bit of an Arthuriana kick lately, and naturally, my mind turned to how I might incorporate some of those motifs into Wildermyth visuals. All choices matter and have consequences that can alter your heroes’ lives. Characters have unique origins and traits that can be used in developing their stories in many different ways. Each hero is different and no story is the same. The Steam Workshop has a lot of different mods available to you, including mods that add events, mods that rebalance certain aspects of the game, and even mods that add a ton of hairstyles. Guide your heroes from humble beginnings as peasants to their own unique legends. ''Arthuruins'? WTH are you talking about, Magpie?' Wildermyth has a burgeoning modding community, and it is a great idea to take advantage of that fact. I enjoy original-flavor Wildermyth names a lot, but I LOVE making random generators, so if anyone has ideas, requests, etc. The function that makes adjacent tiles more likely to generate similar names (and lets your heroes talk about nearby places accurately) will preserve some of the words from whatever was loaded previously.

but I have found that you can create interesting mixes by going into 'options' and changing out whether your name-gen mod is loaded in mid-game. The game seems to only work from one set of namegen files at a time (theoretically, whichever loads last wins). In addition, the weapon name formulas have been somewhat simplified and given a light salting of person-name elements to work with, and surnames are about twice as likely to generate with a prefix ('ap,' 'of', 'du', etc). as well as later medieval blazonry and, of course, the Arthurian canon itself! People, places, hero companies, and weapons will generate from a different set of elements that draws on early-medieval Frankish, Byzantine, Welsh, and Gaelic sources.
